Welcome to the 2011 ITTF PTT EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS, SPLIT, CROATIA

It is my pleasure to welcome you all at the 2011 European Paralympic Table Tennis Championships in Split - Croatia.

This is the time of great development of sports for people with disabilities throughout the world.

Croatia has a long tradition in table tennis. The Croatian Paralympic Committee has more than 10 years of experience in organising local, national and international competitions, which is the best confirmation and guarantee for managing this important event.
The decision of the International Table Tennis Federation for Croatia to be selected as the host of the 2011 ITTF PTT European Championships is just another confirmation that we entered the series of successful sporting nations, both in terms of the organisation as well as the results achieved by our athletes.
We already organised the 2003 IPC European Table Tennis C hampionships in Zagreb.
The Croatian Prime Minister, Mrs. Jadranka Kosor is the official patron of the 2011 ITTF PTT European Championships.

This only shows how the Croatian Government gives great importance to sports for people with disabilities for their work and achievements.

The City of Split provided us with great help in order to be able to organise this great and important event, which I would like to thank them for.

I would like to express many thanks to the Split-Dalmatia County, sponsors, donors and official suppliers who have shown a big heart and helped us in organising this Championships.

Also many thanks to all who have helped and participated in the organisation of this Championships.

I wish all of the athletes and teams good luck and success.

I know that, considering all the hard work and training that the athletes have undertaken, we can look forward to a really great competition.
